About Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer
Mr.B The Gentleman Rhymer is the alter ego of Jim Burke, a British musician who pioneered “chap hop”—a humorous fusion of hip hop with British upper-class themes, delivered in a posh accent. Performing with a banjolele, he raps about cricket, manners, and tea. Formerly of the Britpop band Collapsed Lung, he launched Mr.B in 2007 and has since released multiple albums and performed at Glastonbury and the Edinburgh Fringe. He’s also known for his playful rivalry with fellow chap hopper Professor Elemental.
