Last Planet drops their fourth 2023 single, “Little More Time,” which drives home their soulful, modern alt-rock vibe and builds on the longings expressed in “Whiskey Breath” and “Seaglass,” both released in 2023. “Little More Time” is about how hard it is to break cycles of destructive behaviors in a relationship. Rai sings vulnerably yet powerfully about the heartache of being left because of not being able to change fast enough. The big guitars express the climatic emotional upheaval before the catchy and relatable chorus brings solace.
After a year in the studio, Last Planet is currently touring northern California, playing well-known venues, county fairs, and beloved dive bars. They look forward to connecting with their fans and making new ones.
“It’s like what Pink Floyd would’ve sounded like if they’d decided to record “Great Gig in the Sky” with Jill Scott instead, and at the turn of the millennium…Last Planet, “Seaglass” will instantly transport you to the stoned, care-free aesthetic of an oceanside outing…”

“Last Planet delights with the lush, laid-back, and ultra-alluring “Seaglass.” The song combines themes of love and loss with the sounds of spending a day at the beach, complete with a refreshing sea breeze…”

“Whiskey Breath is everything that a Last Planet song sets out to be…seductive sound and a trancey, melodic groove that’s accentuated by some very soulful electric guitar playing. You throw in some sassy saxophone and lyrics that allude to the mischievous side of the nightlife, and you got one sexy track.”

“Ahmed-Green’s vocals [in Whiskey Breath] are at their most flexible and controlled. She knows when to carry a honey-eyed tune to the idea of temptation and equally an impassioned delivery amongst the psychedelic blues rock pulses or dim lit, smoke-filled aroma that is masterfully crafted by both guitar and saxophone.”

“Straight Jacket is a great example of how well you can blend genres to your liking and create an explosive outcome. Straight Jacket is one of these songs that make you turn your head, either it is because of the excellently performed guitar solo, the female vocals that surprise you at the second verse, or the awesome vocal line of the chorus is guaranteed you will listen.

“[Jonesing] is a powerful blend of funk, blues rock and modern alternative rock, that builds and caters to the duet back-and-forth feeling between the two vocalists. Play this one loud!”

The addition of Rai Ahmed-Green as lead female vocalist and co-songwriter brought a sultry infusion of Soul and R&B. Mixing raw and processed elements, Last Planet found their signature sound: soulful vocals over modern rock. Last Planet is excited to release “Little More Time,” their fourth in a series of 2023 singles. “Little More Time” drives home their unique modern alt-rock sound.
Last Planet’s live performances will serve up soul and groove with captivating female and male vocals as well as plenty of seductive saxophone by Lucian Pixley, guitarist Ben Hicks’ killer solos, and the mesmerizing beats of drummer Lyman Jerome Alexander II.
