Ever enduring and ever evolving, MIC has always been — and remains — a band on a mission: to rock the world. While staying true to its signature sound, the band continues to push its boundaries with enhanced production, dynamic vocals, and a blend of styles on its upcoming release, 7th Heaven.
Drawing inspiration from the ’70s and early ’80s, MIC is often compared to iconic acts like Cheap Trick, Thin Lizzy, Keith Richards, AC/DC, and KISS. Unlike many “wannabe” bands, however, MIC delivers authentic, high-energy rock. Rooted in classic influences while carving out its place in the contemporary hard rock scene, MIC stands apart with its feel-good, slightly rebellious spirit — a vibe that’s woven into every riff and track.
Since its inception in 2004 in Chengdu, China, MIC has proven resilient through every high and low, building a formidable list of accomplishments. The band has earned international airplay, delivered live televised performances, received glowing reviews from global publications, and cultivated a loyal fanbase that has carried the MIC banner for over a decade. From intimate clubs in Japan to major festival stages across China, MIC continues to broaden its reach. Recent highlights include performances at the Richmond Centre for the Performing Arts and the renowned Blast to the Past showcase.
Since relocating to Toronto in 2012, MIC has retained its original lineup, reinforcing its legacy as a true mainstay in the rock world. The current members are Yvon Serre (lead guitar and vocals), Jeremy Brett (bass), Ratsi B Coe (drums), and Mike O’Neil (backup vocals and guitar). 7th Heaven also features contributions from a host of accomplished international musicians, delivering what may be MIC’s strongest album yet.
