About Sitting on a Snowflake
The song began taking shape after Mike relocated to the snowy mountain regions outside of Los Angeles, where he found himself immersed in an unfamiliar yet inspiring landscape. From that setting, he sent an early demo to Ken and Ron, capturing the quiet isolation and reflective mood of mountain life.
Ken responded by crafting a new bridge along with the verse melodies and lyrics, envisioning Mike snowed in but content, embracing the stillness, beauty, and novelty of his high-altitude surroundings. The words came together quickly, driven by that vivid image.
Building on the wintry atmosphere, Ron completed the song by writing a soaring chorus melody and lyrics that perfectly complemented the verses, tying the entire piece together and giving “Sitting on a Snowflake” its emotional center.
