TOPEKA, KS, NOVEMBER 11, 2026 – There’s a new Native music record label, y’all!
Wadulisi Recordings is proud to announce its official imprint agreement with Melodic Revolution Records (MRR), marking a bold new chapter to amplify Native American and Indigenous voices through genre-defying music. The debut roster includes acclaimed musician and composer Lisa LaRue (Cherokee Nation) with her visionary project band RematriNation, alongside progressive/experimental artist Juan R. Leõn (Tarahumara/Yaqui descent).

LaRue has long been a promoter for Indigenous creativity, blending cultural stewardship with sonic innovation and visual art. She was the first female artist signed to SOAR Records’ Natural Visions label, whose debut album featured 14 pieces of artwork from the most awarded female Native artist, Joan Hill (Muscogee Creek with Cherokee Nation descent). Shen also released a keyboard/flute CD with John “Yafke” Timothy (Muscogee Creek), a flute player and guitarist, as well as the NAMMY nominated “Children’s Songs in the Cherokee Language”. She is named in the Houghton-Mifflin “Encyclopedia of Women’s History” as a pioneer in female Native American contemporary music, along with Joanne Shenandoah. This imprint partnership with MRR, an internationally respected label known for championing “Music you didn’t know you would love”, cements a shared commitment to artistic excellence and cultural advocacy.
“This partnership is more than a business agreement, it’s a bridge,” says Lisa LaRue, founder of Wadulisi Recordings. “Together, we’re creating space for Native and Indigenous musicians to be heard, respected, and celebrated by wider audiences. I’m honored to continue this journey with Melodic Revolution Records, a label that has supported my work for years and truly understands the power of music as a force for change.”
Nick Katona, President and Chief Strategist of Melodic Revolution Records, echoes the mission, stating “Melodic Revolution Records and I remain committed to connecting hearts and minds through music that inspires, provokes thought, and creates unforgettable moments that endure for generations. With that vision at our core, we are proud to join forces with Lisa LaRue on her journey with her newly formed label and MRR imprint, Wadulisi Recordings. Although the path ahead is still unfolding, we look forward to the possibilities it brings. Together, we will continue to move forward, steadfast in our mission to bring joy to the world through music and to amplify the voices of musicians who deserve to be heard.”
With several previous releases on MRR, LaRue’s Wadulisi imprint signals a deepening of a relationship rooted in mutual respect and creative daring. The debut projects promise to eliminate stereotypes and elevate voices that have too often been overlooked.
