‘Los Angeles – From The Ashes’ is a bumper 75 song compilation of post-punk, alternative rock, EBM and darkwave tracks released in order to support those afftected by the recent devastating fires in Los Angeles.
Issued via Bandcamp on 7th March at a price of just $10, the project is a collaboration between the labels COP International, Metropolis Records, Distortion Productions, Infacted Recordings and Dependent Records as a global effort to provide relief. All net income from the release will be donated directly to the American Red Cross, helping fire victims and aiding ongoing relief efforts.
Among the 75 participating artists are long established names such as Stabbing Westward, Chris Connelly and Psyclon Nine, alongside newer acts like Night Ritualz, whose debut album was also released on 7th March (Metropolis Records).
“As the devastating fires in Los Angeles tore through the city, we witnessed the destruction of one of the most vibrant artist communities in the world,” states Christian Petke of COP International. “Many of our friends, collaborators and fellow artists were displaced, with some losing everything. In the face of this devastation, we knew we had to take action. This is our response, which brings together an extraordinary community of artists, labels and supporters.”
He continues: “This compilation is more than just an album. It’s a testament to hope, strength and solidarity, showcasing the power of unity and the resilience of the music community. We invite everyone to support this cause, whether by purchasing the compilation, sharing this initiative, or spreading the word. Every bit of help makes a difference. A special thank you to all the incredible artists, labels and friends who came together to make this possible. Let’s rise from the ashes – stronger, united and ready to rebuild.”
