Frontiers Label Group announced Tom Lipsky has been named Head of A&R of North America for the Italian rock and metal label, home to such artists as Journey, YES, Def Leppard, ELO and other leading artists within those genres.

Lipsky is a veteran music industry executive, having worked with both major labels and the independent music community. He served as President of Sanctuary Records Group N.A., CMC International Records (a BMG JV) and Loud & Proud Records (a JV with Roadrunner / Atlantic Records), as well as indie Carry On Music.

Recognizing the continuing creative and commercial value of iconic artists, Tom’s creative focus has been on the established artist community, working with such superstars as Rush, Lenny Kravitz, Robert Plant, Neil Young, The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Bad Company, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Nancy Wilson of Heart, The Steve Miller Band, Sammy Hagar, Widespread Panic, Earth Wind & Fire, Morrissey and many more.

Now he will take the lead in the label’s A&R vision for North America.

“Frontiers is thrilled to have such a respected and accomplished music industry executive on board to drive Frontiers into the future. Pairing Tom’s vision and the label’s 25+ year history of success will accelerate our goal of Frontiers becoming the leading label for the rock and metal genres across the globe.” said the label’s President Serafino Perugino.

Lipsky’s hiring comes as Frontiers comes off a superb year for the label in 2023, where they accrued over 275M total audio streams, combined physical sales of over 300K units and even a #1 Billboard chart debut with Night Ranger’s “40 Years and Night (with the CYO)” on the Contemporary Christian Chart. After a strong start in 2024, the label will finish the year with a loaded release schedule, including new albums from Eclipse, Blue Oyster Cult, Mr. Big, Stryper, and Jon Anderson & The Band Geeks.

“Serafino and I share a common vision regarding the continuing relevance and value of veteran artists” said Lipsky. “I look forward to working with him and his team to make Frontiers the label home of choice for the artist community.”
