With their sophomore release, Distressed significantly expands their sonic landscape while staying rooted in the heavy, uncompromising spirit that defines their sound. Made Of Stone builds upon the band’s foundation of hard-hitting riffs and metal influences, pushing boldly into new and unexpected musical territory.
The album’s standout epic, “Sungod,” features Miguel Fernandez adding a deeply ritualistic and atmospheric dimension. Meanwhile, “You Haven’t Found It Yet” explores darker, synth-driven textures, evoking the moody essence of Depeche Mode. On a different note, “Agents of the Groove” channels the swagger and raw energy of mid-2000s Los Angeles rock, drawing comparisons to Eagles of Death Metal.
Altogether, Made Of Stone represents a more diverse and adventurous chapter for Distressed, broadening their musical palette while remaining true to their raw and authentic identity.
The band’s origins reflect a relentless creative drive:
“At first, there was one old riff that had to be done away. Soon there was a new riff and that too had to be done away. Soon there were five, ten, fifteen… And then I had to start a band to play songs. And so Distressed was born.”

Distressed is a Finnish hard rock/grunge band from Jyväskylä known for a heavy, melodic sound blending stoner rock and alternative influences. Formed by Petri Lindström, the band released their debut album Nothing for No One in 2023 and announced their follow-up album, Made Of Stone, for April 2026, featuring a mix of raw riffs and varied musical textures.
