Melodic Revolution Records (MRR) is proud to announce a new U.S. distribution partnership with internationally acclaimed Italian bassist and composer Alberto Rigoni for his highly anticipated 2026 release, Dystopia (A Progressive Bass Journey). The album will be available in Italy through Alberto Rigoni’s Bandcamp Store, in Europe via the esteemed progressive rock label Musea Records, and worldwide through US Prog Label Melodic Revolution Records, reaching multiple global regions and territories.
A bold and immersive exploration of the bass guitar’s expressive power, Dystopia promises to deliver one of Rigoni’s most ambitious sonic landscapes to date. The album features an extraordinary lineup of world-renowned bass icons,
Michael Manring (Michael Hedges, Montreux, etc), and Stuart Hamm (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, etc), and the dynamic rhythmic intensity of David Menoudakis, with another iconic drummer as guest soon to be revealed., all performing alongside Rigoni. An additional special guest, yet to be revealed, will further elevate the project’s already impressive roster.
Dystopia will be available in CD, LP, and digital formats worldwide in early Spring 2026.
About Alberto Rigoni
Alberto Rigoni is a celebrated Italian bassist, composer, producer, and gear demonstrator recognized for his versatility and innovative approach to modern prog and fusion. A member of BAD As and numerous collaborations, including Vivaldi Metal Project, The Italians, Kim Bingham, and formerly TwinSpirits, Rigoni has become an influential figure in today’s bass community. He is also active as an online session musician, offering his distinctive playing to artists across the globe.
Between 2008 and 2023, Rigoni released thirteen critically acclaimed solo albums, featuring an elite roster of guest musicians such as Jordan Rudess, Gavin Harrison, Kevin Moore, Goran Edman, Marco Minnemann, Thomas Lang, Nathan East, Billy Sheehan, and Leland Sklar. His work is known for its emotive depth, technical mastery, and genre-blending creativity.
