Ifsounds, an Italian prog band active for over 20 years, are a new find for me. Their latest release is a straightforward live album recorded in Atessa, Italy, featuring lyrics in both Italian and English and dual male-female lead vocals. The performance embraces the classic Italian prog style with touches of pop, jazz, and rock, showcasing competent musicianship and occasional raw, unpolished moments that add authenticity. This appears to be a real live album with no fixes after the fact as the occasional off key vocal and bum notes are heard from time to time. The set opens with “MMXX” and closes with “MMXXII,” bookending the concert and highlighting their recent work. Overall, the album offers a solid introduction to Ifsounds’ music. Recommended for those who enjoy well done Italian prog.
