On September 20th 2024 The Blackheart Orchestra will release their dynamic new single – Bloodlines.
Bloodlines will be the first studio release from the band since their highly acclaimed 2022 album Hotel Utopia.
Following on from their successful Winterspring Tour earlier in the year, Bloodlines acts as the leader for the forthcoming 18-date Autumn tour of the same name which commences on the 6th of September and takes them from Edinburgh To London. It is also the precursor and gateway to their next studio album slated for release in 2025.
The Blackheart Orchestra’s music combines influences from British greats Kate Bush and Portishead with American composers Steve Reich and Philip Glass. The band takes human emotions and reprocesses them through their multi-layered, part classical, part rock, part pop, music. Bloodlines draws inspiration from the things passed down through our lineage – not just physical traits but intergenerational trauma, mental illness, strengths and resilience. The song delves into the secrets our bodies hold and asks the question is society’s current epidemic of depression generic or genetic.
