Today, Michigan based progdustrial rockers LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT are excited to release their new single “BWYWTB,” taken from their upcoming album, ‘Rage Toward the Light,’ due out on October 3rd. The new track, mixed by LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT‘s own Mike Nolen, arrives alongside an official visualizer, available below.
Since forming in 2020, LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT has steadily built a catalog that includes three EPs, two singles, and several striking music videos, complemented by select live performances. Now, the band is preparing to release their most ambitious work yet: the full-length album ‘Rage Toward The Light.’
On the new single, Ross Morgan shares
“‘BWYWTB’ comes out of the idea of trying to write lyrics with a positive spin, something you don’t typically hear in the industrial metal world.”

LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT is an industrial rock, pop, and metal band hailing from Grand Rapids and Lansing, Michigan. The group is driven by producers and multi-instrumentalists Ross Morgan (Holloway, Abandoners, Redline Horizon) and Mike Nolen (Metzfire, Hitchcock Guillotine), alongside guitarist Chas Millican (Deveraux, Bloodletting, Echoes of Pink Floyd), with a rotating lineup of frequent collaborators adding to their expansive sound.
Musically, LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT thrives on contrast and exploration. Their sound channels the grit of Nine Inch Nails, the spectacle of Rammstein, and the theatricality of Rob Zombie, while weaving in the atmospheric touch of Pink Floyd, the pop sensibility of Justin Timberlake and The Weeknd, and the artistry of Peter Gabriel and Ministry. The result is an immersive, genre-defying journey that refuses to sit still.
All songs on ‘Rage Toward the Light’ were written and performed by Mike Nolen and Ross Morgan. The album features additional guitar work from Josh Barnaby on “The 10th Realm,” and Nick Hagen on “Straylight,” while guest guitar solos on “Fateweaver” are performed by Chas Millican. The album was mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios.
Commenting on ‘Rage Toward the Light,’ Ross Morgan states:
“I think this record is a huge step forward for this band. We put a lot more work into it than our previous releases and it shows. It’s got a lot of darkness but there’s also songs that have a positive vibe, which isn’t easy to do in this genre. It’s pretty original and doesn’t sound like anything else, and I’m pretty proud of that.”
While Mike Nolen adds:
“The evolution of these songs from demo to finished product has been an incredible journey. It’s the best music I’ve ever worked on.”
