There is order, but there’s no justice.”
– ‘ACAB’ – Utilitarian

Utilitarian are purveyors of raging hardcore and explosive, adrenaline-infused, extreme metal; capable of unleashing  a building levelling, pit inciting firestorm of riffs and anger, a barrage of authority annihilating blast beats. But they are more than just a band. Utilitarian are a principled voice, a spiritual throwback to a time when we knew how to protest injustice, before we were lulled into a smiling stupor by promises of wealth and security and took a sleepwalk into mindless obedience. Before we allowed a lying ‘elite’ to splinter us into warring factions, blind to their manipulation. Utilitarian are a moral code, a way of life, a belief that all are born equal, that no-one should be dominated or discounted. Utilitarian are angry at what our society has become…and you should be too.

Earlier this year Utilitarian released the thunderous full length album, Fight War, Not Wars. Destroy Power Not People, a thrilling, terrifying ride of snarling punk and metal and a vehement attack on the rotten foundations of capitalism. Cuartel Del Metal declared it “one of the most virulent political music works of this year” and the band received a 13/15 review in esteemed German magazine Legacy. So why are Utilitarian back so soon with another release, the out of control fury of Stay Angry? Vocalist Jon Crowder explains…

“Well, we’re still brimming with ideas on things to write about. We’re in that beautiful phase of early passion with a project, where it’s a family and it’s a cause and our cups are running over with ideas. Also, take a look at the world around you, there’s no shortage of things to get mad about.”

…and when a release is as compelling, as convincing, as viscerally vital and downright bloody good as Stay Angry, who cares when it gets here, as long as it gets here soon! The EP features three brand new Utilitarian tracks, celebrations of anarchy and justice, condemnations of state sanctioned brutality that hit like an atom bomb. The magnificent ‘Anarchy (Justice Without Order)’ features two very special guests, namely Bolt Thrower/Memoriam/Darkened drummer Andy Whale and De Profundis/Formicarius guitarist Paul Nazarkardeh – another reason to be excited about this new EP! As a special bonus Utilitarian have ripped through two of their favourite covers – Doom’s ‘Police Bastard’ and Dead Kennedys’ ‘Police Truck’ – to really make Stay Angry an utterly essential release. The revolution begins again on November 6th – be ready to raise your voice in solidarity!

As with all Utilitarian releases, every single penny made from the sale of Stay Angry will be donated to charity – in this case Inquest, the only charity providing expertise on state related deaths and their investigation to bereaved people, lawyers, advice and support agencies, the media and parliamentarians.
