Recorded live at Earthling Studios in El Cajon, CA, and produced by the band themselves, Time Mutations captures Wild Wild Wets at their most evolved and expansive. Engineered, mixed, and mastered by the legendary Mike Kamoo, the album brings together fever-dream psych, gritty funk, and art rock swagger into one immersive trip.
“We really wanted this album to feel like you’re stepping into another world,” says frontman Mike Turi, who also created the album artwork. “There’s a narrative thread about a character trying to build their own society, and High Rider tells the story of a recluse who thinks they’re above the laws of humanity—it’s like Dr. Moreau meets Ziggy Stardust.”
The new single “High Rider” is a warped psych-funk odyssey drenched in synths, layered percussion, and a slick sense of menace. It marks a bold evolution in the WWWets’ sound, driven by the dynamic rhythms of drummer Dave Mead, bassist Albert Sanchez, and the inimitable Jason Crane (Rocket From the Crypt) on congas, trumpet, and percussion.
