Hasse Fröberg & Musical Companion (HFMC) formed in 2008 when Hasse had a batch of new songs, and by 2009 the band was performing and preparing their debut FuturePast (2010). They followed with Powerplay (2012), HFMC (2015), and the live DVD/album No Place Like Home (2017).
In 2019 came the ambitious Parallel Life, and 2021 saw We Are The Truth. On June 6, 2024, HFMC released their sixth studio album Eternal Snapshots, a concept record exploring identity and destiny.
Hasse, known for his work with The Flower Kings and 1980s hard rock band Spellbound, fronts a lineup featuring Sampo Axelsson (bass), Kjell Haraldsson (keyboards), Anton Lindsjö (guitar), and Ola Strandberg (drums). The members have collaborated with artists like Glenn Hughes, Michael Schenker, Jeff Scott Soto, and Joe Lynn Turner. HFMC blends progressive and classic rock with hints of pop, creating a warm, distinctive sound.
‘Powerplay’ Re-release (20.02.26)
Progressive rock stalwarts HFMC are set to re-release their highly acclaimed sophomore album Powerplay on 20 February 2026, following years of being out of print. Originally released in 2012, Powerplay now returns in a fully remastered edition, featuring two live bonus tracks and new artwork, presented in a 2-panel digisleeve with an accompanying 12-page booklet.
The re-release answers long-standing fan demand, delivering remastered audio, live renditions of the fan favourites “Venice CA” and “White Butterfly”, and a refreshed visual presentation. This marks the first release in HFMC’s new partnership with FREIA Music, heralding an exciting chapter for the band.
