When I was a kid, the thought of making the kind of music that could take me overseas to the UK and Europe was outrageous. Inaccessible. The connection to these places was something I felt from a very young age. 12 actually. The penchant was musical and it came directly from my absolute obsession and love for Elton John. My pre-adolescent Elton discovery was a gateway drug to Queen, the Beatles, U2, Kate Bush, George Michael, Sinéad O’Connor, David Bowie, Radiohead, on and on…. and I imagined a moody and mysterious utopia of complicated musical bliss. I had visions of myself on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. I dreamed it was me standing on the stage at Live Aid, clutching a half mic stand and singing Radio Gaga instead of Freddie. Sometimes, like a snow globe, I lived inside of my beloved Bernie Taupin lyrics,“The old diehards on Denmark Street start laughing at the keyboard player’s hollow haunted eyes”

Where was Denmark Street? Can just anyone go to THE Abbey Road?
These were the musings of a country girl. Country in every way. Culturally, musically and politically. “Are there chances in life for little dirt cowboys? Should I make my way out of my home in the woods?”I didn’t even see an airplane until I was 17, and I only made it to Idaho. But I have never stopped dreaming of Europe. I loved the thought of it so much, sometimes I wondered if I was really “remembering” it instead of imagining it. When I finally made it over, I was in my 20s and it was everything I knew it would be. It wasn’t easy! I’ve been working my whole life and touring the UK and Europe as a baby band is not for the faint of heart. Nevertheless though, I did THE zebra crossing; drank a real Guinness; had my first Ardbeg and I experienced the European countryside…and to me, even The Borderline was more beautiful than anything I could have dreamed up. I met my wife in London and got married at Chelsea Town Hall, and I now cross the Atlantic more than I could have ever hoped for – but not nearly enough to play my music and bring my art home to the place where it really came from…When I played Hyde Park and Drury Lane last year, I was transported back to a part of myself I don’t want to lose.

More than I could ever explain, your soil shaped me as an artist from thousands of miles away. My life has come to a point where I want to make up for some serious lost time. Not just the time it’s taken me between tours and albums to sing my songs for you, but even the time before that. The time lost to dreamers and children who dream of faraway places they may never even see. The Carliles are hitting the road y’all! I’m beyond proud to bring you The Lost Time Tour! We are going to take you on a journey through our songs and albums. The moments you’ve missed and moments yet to materialize! From our very first song, to brand new music no one’s even heard yet. We plan to create some unforgettable evenings of community and musical transcendence with you. I’m deeply moved by the fact that so many of you have been with me like an old friend for all these years, even though I’ve not been a frequent visitor. Forgive me for that.

Let’s make up for lost time.
