We couldn’t be more excited to announce the full lineup for the 35th Annual New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival! #NewFest35 will be held October 12 – 24, in person and virtually across the U.S. This year’s anniversary slate features 130+ premiere films that reflect where we’ve come from, where we are today, and where we are going from here.
As we previously announced, our Opening Night film is the NYC premiere of George C. Wolfe’s RUSTIN, and Andrew Haigh’s ALL OF US STRANGERS will be our Closing Night film. But that’s just the beginning!
Our U.S. Centerpiece is the NYC Premiere of NYAD, starring Annette Bening and Jodie Foster, which tells the true story of athlete Diana Nyad, and our International Centerpiece is the NYC premiere of Hirokazu Kore-ada’s MONSTER, winner of the Queer Grand Palme at Cannes!
We’re also thrilled to share the World Premiere of BEYOND THE AGGRESSIVES, the follow-up to the groundbreaking AGGRESSIVES, as our Documentary Centerpiece!
We’ll also be holding a special screening of MAYDECEMBER directed by Academy Award® nominee Todd Haynes (VELVET GOLDMINE, FAR FROM HEAVEN, CAROL), who we will honor with the NewFest35 Queer Visionary Award.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg! We look forward to celebrating with you at #NewFest35!
